Editorial Guidelines
The Digital Weekly is committed to accurate, fair, and independent journalism. These guidelines govern how we report, write, and publish. They apply to every staff editor and freelance contributor.
Accuracy and fact-checking
Accuracy comes first. Claims are checked against primary sources before publication. Numbers, quotes, and dates are verified. When a story develops, we update it transparently rather than quietly rewriting it.
Sourcing
We rely on primary sources wherever possible — company filings, official statistics, regulatory documents, and named experts — and we attribute information clearly so readers can judge it for themselves. We do not publish rumor as fact. Anonymous sources are used only when the information is in the public interest and cannot be obtained on the record, and only with editor approval.
Independence
Editorial decisions are made by our editors. Advertisers, sponsors, and affiliate partners have no influence over our coverage or our conclusions. Sponsored or affiliate content is clearly labeled and is never presented as independent editorial.
Opinion versus reporting
We distinguish clearly between news reporting and opinion or analysis. Opinion pieces carry the author’s byline and are labeled as such; they reflect the writer’s view, not a house position.
Financial coverage
The Digital Weekly publishes information and analysis, not personalized financial advice. We never tell readers what to buy or sell. Writers disclose relevant holdings, and our coverage is not a substitute for professional advice — see our Disclaimer.
Conflicts of interest
Contributors must disclose any financial, personal, or professional interest relevant to a story. Where a conflict cannot be managed, the contributor does not cover the subject.
Use of AI tools
We may use software tools, including AI, to assist with research, drafting, and editing. A human editor is responsible for every published article — for its accuracy, sourcing, and fairness. We do not publish unreviewed machine-generated content.
Corrections
When we make a mistake, we correct it promptly and openly. Significant corrections are noted on the article. See our Corrections Policy for how to report an error.
